The Participatory Budget for Welfare Services (opAS) is a democratic instrument that allows any student at P.PORTO to intervene responsibly in the activities to be developed, by sending project proposals and choosing the projects to implement (online voting).
This initiative aims to maintain close management between all students and the P.PORTO Welfare Services, in search of solutions and new ideas, fostering a civic spirit, where individual concerns are integrated into the common public good, reinforcing responsibility and comprehensive training for all students involved, and also contributing to the quality of democratic culture. P.PORTO's Welfare Services aims to achieve its objectives through real proximity, critical eye, active participation, improvement and innovation in action. OpAS is coordinated by a Commission with the Welfare Services Council, the Student Ombudsman and a representative from each Student Association.
